Middleville's Labor Day Bridge Walk

posted on
Middleville's Labor Day Bridge Walk

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO DO THIS LABOR DAY?

On Labor Day, September 5, 2016, the American Legion Post #140 will continue the tradition of the Labor Day Bridge Walk in the Village of Middleville by sponsoring this year’s event.  Meeting at 9 am in the Pavilion, walkers will then cross the Main Street Bridge and come back.  All walkers will be given a certificate signed by the Village President to show that they participated.  Those that want to walk more bridges may walk the new Paul Henry-Trail section to the north where there are 6 bridges or the Paul Henry-Thornapple Trail South where there are an additional three bridges.

The Main Street Bridge was completed last year and is ready for the first time for a Labor Day Bridge Walk. The Paul Henry-Thornapple Trail north section was dedicated on August 20, 2016 and is ready for walkers to cross its bridges.  The Village of Middleville now has ten bridges for the Labor Day Bridge walkers.

The Thornapple Trail Association started the Middleville Bridge Walk in 2004, and has been the sponsor until this year when the American Legion Post #140 decided to sponsor the walk.
